Granite Process

Estimates:
We are glad to provide free, in-home estimates. We will measure your kitchen and discuss your design ideas, budget, stone selection, and edge detail

Pricing varies on stone selection, thickness and edge detail.

Stone selection:
When remodeling an entire kitchen, we recommend choosing your cabinets and granite first, as they will be the focal point of your project. They are also the most expensive items in your remodel. Floor tiles and backsplashes come next. Paint, the least expensive, also offers a wide variety of colors to adapt to your palette. Therefore, your paint choice should usually be your last decision. We will accompany you to local stone wholesalers to assist you in selecting the "perfect" material. We also suggest bringing cabinet, paint and tile samples to facilitate color/ pattern selection. We’ll be happy to provide granite samples to view in your home. When the final selection is made, the stone is then tagged with your name ensuring the stone you select is the one that is installed in your home.

Template:
After approving the proposal, a 50% deposit by cash or check is required to proceed with fabrication and installation. We will schedule an appointment to come to your home to prepare templates. This template will be used in the fabrication of your stone, for this reason all base cabinets must be installed. For remodels, we do not require existing countertops to be removed.

Fabrication:
Highly trained stone fabricators use the templates to cut and polish the stone in preparation for the installation process.

Installation:
Our professional crews will deliver and install the stone in your home polish seams and make the required cutouts, if neccesary. Granite is installed directly upon base cabinets, any existing countertops need to be removed prior to installation date. Artisan Granite Countertops can complete the tear-out and removal of your existing countertops for a small, additional fee. As a final step, we will clean, caulk and seal the granite tops.
